Suitable for all persons aged 18 years an over, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, this course will give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in everyday work, while seeking help and reporting incident identified.
Course content:
- Identify key elements of the law on safeguarding – Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
- How to protect yourselves from allegations and complaints
- Ways in which concerns can be reported
- Describe the different characteristics of abuse
- Actions to take in response to evidence of abuse
- How to respond to disclosures
- confidentiality and who to share information with
Learning outcome:
- Understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people and vulnerable adults in the workplace
- Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child, young person or vulnerable adult has been abused
Certificate will be issued shortly after the course – There is no 3 yearly re-qualification but it is advised to make sure you are keeping up to date with legislation and local procedures
