Blended Paediatric – (12 hours)

Suitable for 16 years and over who are looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs in the early years age group, childminders and carers of children at home.

This PFA First Aid Award Level 3 Qualification is a blended course, 6 hours online (part one) 6 hours practical in the classroom (part two).
This is an OFSTED recognised Paediatric First Aid course and supports individuals and organisations/Early Years nursery or home settings to meet the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frame work.

• Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
• Be able to provide first aid for an infant and child who are unresponsive
• Be able to provide first aid and child who are choking

• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with bites, stings and minor injuries
• Be able to provide first aid to a baby and child with suspected injures to bones, muscles and joints
• Be able to provide first aid to a baby and child with a suspected head injuries
• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with conditions affecting ears, nose, eyes
• Know how to provide first aid to an infant and child with acute medical conditions or sudden illnesses
• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child who is experiencing extremes of body temperatures
• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child who has sustained an electric shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with burns and scalds
• Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with suspected poisoning
• Be able to provide first aid to a baby and child with anaphylaxis

A 3 year certificate will be issued shortly after the course
