Suitable for 16 years and over who are looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders and carers of children at home.
This is an OFSTED recognised Paediatric First Aid course and supports individuals and organisations/Early Years nursery or home settings to meet the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frame work.

Learning outcomes:
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a Paediatric First Aider
- Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
- Be able to provide first aid for an infant and child who are unresponsive
- Be able to provide first aid and child who are choking
- Be able to provide first aid to a baby and a child with external bleeding
- Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child who is suffering from shock
- Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with bites, stings and minor injuries
- Be able to provide first aid to a baby and child with suspected injures to bones, muscles and joints
- Be able to provide first aid to a baby and child with a suspected head injuries
- Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child with conditions affecting ears, nose, eyes
- Know how to provide first aid to an infant and child with acute medical conditions or sudden illnesses
- Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child who is experiencing extremes of body temperatures
- Know how to provide first aid to a baby and child who has sustained an electric shock
