This course is a 12 hour classroom based course spread over 2 days. It is suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over . It covers the content of both the Level 1 (1/2 day) and Level 2 (1 day) Qualification and is aimed at trainers/assessors and/or supervisors within the workplace.

Learning outcomes:
- Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of the First Aider for mental health
- Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a suspected mental health condition
- Know how to recognise and manage stress
- Understand the impact of substance misuse on mental health
- Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it into place
- Know how to implement a positive mental culture in the workplace
- Understanding a range of mental health disorders and the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers
